​​​​​Create a Link in eCampus​​​​​

  1. In a text-editing area in eCampus, select the text you want to turn into a link.​

  2. Click the Insert/Edit Link icon in the text editor.

  3. Paste or type the full URL into the Link Path field.
  4. Switch the Target drop-down menu to Open in New Window (_blank).
    Screenshot of Target drop-down menu.Note: With this setting enabled, users will not be forced to navigate away from eCampus when clicking a link -- which means they won’t lose their place in the course.
  5. Click Insert to add the link and return to the text-editing area.

Best Practice: Use a Descriptive Link

Below is an example of a descriptive link, as well as two other ways text is often hyperlinked.

Descriptive links are best practice for online and digital text because they provide a clear, concise description of the page they will load.
