Biology/Ecology at Richland

The mission of the Biology program at Richland is to help students develop the skills necessary for the continued acquisition and use of scientific information and to instill an appreciation for the study of life and the process of discovery.

The study of biology can open a student up to a wide realm of career fields. From scientific research, to health care, to environmental issues, the study of biology can provide a framework for understanding the natural world around us. Biology can serve as a foundation for the study of more specific subjects like genetics, zoology, ecology or agricultural sciences as well. Biology can do more than just prepare students for a career in health care and the sciences, though. Biology courses train students to ask questions, gather and review evidence, make judgments and solve problems.
