Norman Seaton

Dr. Norman Seaton earned a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from the University of Dallas; a bachelor’s degree in management from the University of Plano; and two associate degrees from El Centro. He began working at Dallas College as a full-time faculty member at El Centro ​in 1978. Dr. Seaton currently serves as an educational advisor to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR).

Related professional experience includes a total of 11 years serving as vice president of Premier Data Systems; DP Manager of Jimmy Dean Meat Company; and many years as a system analyst and programmer/operator for various metroplex companies. He is the program coordinator for the Programmer/Database program and Computer Science courses, and has authored a number of special-interest publications and developed numerous customized course templates.

Professional memberships include the IBM Academic Initiative Program, Dallas PHP club and Metro Midrange Systems Association. He is the president of the National Accordion Association; president of the North Texas Flight Instructor Association and Aviation Safety; on the board of directors of the Accordionist and Teachers Guild; and is a licensed auctioneer for the Texas Auctioneers Association.
