Texas A&M University-Commerce Teacher Academy

The Dallas College School of Education (SOE) and Texas A&M University-Commerce (TAMUC) College of Education and Human Services (COEHS) are excited to announce a unique partnership among two institutions committed to teacher quality. In this regard, the TAMUC COEHS and SOE Teacher Academy will serve as a signature university partnership for the Dallas College SOE.

Students admitted to the Texas A&M University-Commerce (TAMUC) – Dallas College Teaching Academy are co-enrolled at the TAMUC College of Education and Human Services and at Dallas College. This means students enrolled in the Teaching Academy receive student privileges at both institutions – specifically taking advantage of world class faculty and counselors, facilities and financial resources at both TAMUC and Dallas Co​llege. 


Benefits and Eligibility

Students in the Teaching Academy will benefit from each institutions’ focus on transforming educator preparation for the North Texas region – equipping future educators with the knowledge and skills they need to be successful as educators from day one. With TAMUC’s COEHS relocating to the Dallas area this fall, Teaching Academy students will have access a high-quality and affordable pathway into the teaching profession right here in Dallas County. 

Students selected to be part of the Teaching Academy are guaranteed admission to TAMUC granted they successfully complete the program requirements.
