About Year Up

Year Up partners with Dallas College to offer this one-year program that provides training to young adults between the ages of 18 and 29. It provides hands-on skills development, college credit and internship opportunities that will help you reach your dreams through education and professional careers. Year Up enables you to move from minimum wage to a career in one year.

  • Corporate Internships
  • College Credit
  • Career Training

If you’re accepted into the program, you will select one of two tracks: technology or business. These tracks are designed to prepare you for an internship and the corporate world. You will begin the first six months taking classes at Dallas College where you will learn and develop technical and professional skills in the classroom. Be sure to soak in everything you learn because you will then have the opportunity to use those skills during a six-month internship at one of Year Up’s corporate partners.

Year Up is always networking and adding new partners. Internship opportunities depend on when you finish your classroom work. Some of the business internship opportunities include:

  • Bank of America
  • AT&T
  • JP Morgan Chase & Co.
  • New York Life

  • 18-29 years old
  • A high school graduate or GED recipient
  • Available Monday-Friday for the full year of the program
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Highly motivated to learn new technical and professional skills

Our Community

Founded in 2000, Year Up has served more than 36,000 young adults across 21 cities, offering the skills, experience, and support that will empower them to reach their full potential through professional careers and higher education. We do this in partnership with visionary colleges and corporate partners, creating a network that is invested in the long-term success of our young adults.

Ongoing Support

Alongside the resources offered by the college, Year Up supports students with staff advisors, mentors, tutors and our Student Services team composed of trained social workers who are ready to step up to provide extra support as needed. What is most powerful, however, is the tight-knit community that our young adults build while at Year Up — they support, challenge and hold each other accountable beyond their year up.
