Dallas College is the first Texas community college to join the Interstate Passport Network!
If you want to transfer to another college or a university when you leave Dallas College, completing a transfer passport can make that process easier. The passport provides a framework for block transfer of lower-division, general education courses. By completing the passport, you can avoid repeating academic work that you have already successfully completed.
The Interstate Passport Network is a group of colleges and universities dedicated to making transfer efficient. It includes public and private, regionally accredited two-year and four-year institutions.

The passport is based on learning outcomes in nine areas:
- Foundational skills: oral communication, written communication and quantitative literacy
- Knowledge of concepts: natural science, human cultures, creative expression, human society and the individual
- Crosscutting skills: critical thinking and teamwork and value systems
You will be awarded the passport if you achieve the passport learning outcomes in all nine areas at transfer-level proficiency. The passport transfers as a block and is recognized by each passport-receiving institution as fulfilling lower-division, general education requirements in the nine passport areas.

If you complete the passport successfully, your achievement will be noted on your transcript. Please note that there may be academic programs or degree requirements that have additional lower-division, upper-division or institutional pre-major or major requirements in these nine areas.
