Appointment Policy

To set up an appointment, email the Dallas College Dental Hygiene Clinic at email DHClinicAppointment@DallasCollege.edu or call 214-860-2301.

Students want to provide you with the best dental hygiene care possible. Students also have specific requirements that they must meet. Your availability for appointments contributes to your oral health and the students' success.

If a patient is more than 15 minutes late, the appointment may be given to someone else. A patient who is continually late, misses two appointments or continually changes appointments will not be rescheduled. The patient will be placed on a “cancellation only” basis and only called when a last-minute appointment is available, or the patient may be dismissed from the clinic and referred to another dentist or to a community clinic. You must notify your student clinician or the Dental Hygiene Clinic at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. Please make a note of your student clinician’s name, so that you may contact him/her or leave a message. You may leave a message at 214-860-2301.

If a patient does not confirm their appointment within 24 hours of the appointment time, the appointment time may be given to another patient.

It is expected that each appointment will last four hours. Plan to spend all four hours in the clinic unless prior arrangements were made with your clinician student. You may be scheduled for one to six appointments to complete your treatment needs.

Patients may want to dress in layers or bring a blanket, as clinic temperatures may vary.

During your treatment in the Dental Hygiene Clinic, you will be advised of your treatment needs and given a referral for treatment that is outside the scope of care provided. Each patient should seek the care of a primary care physician and dental practice for total body health.

As a patient, your consent to treatment includes the consent to use photographs, radiographs and patient case information as a teaching tool. All care is taken to remove any identifying personal information.
