Veronique V. Tran

Dr. Veronique V. Tran serves as the founding vice provost for the School of Manufacturing and Industrial Technology (MIT) at Dallas College. She partners with internal and external stakeholders to build the School of MIT to meet the workforce needs in North Texas through innovative training programs in areas such as automotive technology, construction sciences, applied industrial sciences and advanced manufacturing. As a servant leader, she seeks to help others through opening doors of opportunity to all who come seeking life-changing careers.

Dr. Tran has more than 30 years of experience in higher education leadership, research and engineering. Prior to joining Dallas College, she held leadership positions at the University of Houston, Rice University, Lone Star College and Lee College.

Dr. Tran earned her Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Houston and her Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and University of Texas at Arlington.

Dr. Tran is a Vietnamese American immigrant, child refugee, bilingual first-generation college graduate, wife to her high school sweetheart, mother of two adult sons and breast cancer survivor.
