The Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce, Dallas College and Dallas County Promise have partnered to offer this transformative incentive program to develop future Oak Cliff leaders.

An Oak Cliff Scholar will join a yearly cohort, and each recipient will receive tuition support from Dallas County Promise, cash incentives each semester until they graduate and mentorship from Oak Cliff business leaders and their peers, as well as a lifetime induction into the Oak Cliff Scholar family. The program inducts five deserving students from Oak Cliff each year.

  • Goes directly to students

  • Access to business and community leaders in the Oak Cliff area
  • Coaching, shadowing, internships and networking opportunities

  • Covers the cost of tuition for up to three years or the completion of an associate degree
  • Each Promise student is assigned a Success Coach

  • Appreciation of Oak Cliff history
  • Understanding of governmental affairs
 
 

Eligibility Requirements

  1. The student must attend one of these Oak Cliff-area high schools:
    • W.H Adamson
    • David W. Carter
    • Trinidad Garza Early College
    • Justin F. Kimball
    • Moises E. Molina
    • South Oak Cliff
    • Sunset
    • Roosevelt
  2. GPA: 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
  3. Upon acceptance, attend a virtual orientation

In order to be considered for the Oak Cliff Scholars program, students who meet the eligibility requirements must also apply to and be in good standing with the Dallas County Promise program.
