When Yarumi Leon transferred to Texas Woman’s University this fall to study social work, she was in good company. More than half of TWU’s transfer students come from Dallas College. SirMark Gentry transferred to West Texas A&M University after discovering their electrical engineering program fit his lifestyle and goals. Both were helped along their journey by Dallas College Transfer Services.

One night, as he was watching his two children play, LeShawn Lee knew he had to break the cycle. He, just like his dad, had not graduated high school. Fast-forward to today and Lee is now a college graduate. He finished Dallas College’s Welding Technology associate degree program in December and will walk the coveted graduation stage in May.

Taiwan Delegation Enjoys ‘Very Cool’ Visit to Dallas College

Ray Huang couldn’t believe all of the high-tech gaming equipment and computers available for students competing in esports at the Richland Campus. He had a similar reaction when he went to the part of campus that housed the manufacturing lab’s cutting-edge technology and systems. Huang was among 30 students from the Education Department of New Taipei City, Taiwan, who toured Dallas College earlier this month.

Dallas College Students End Spring Semester With Impressive Wins

Dallas College students ended the Spring 2024 semester with awards and accolades. Thirty-one students brought home gold from SkillsUSA, students returned from Phi Theta Kappa Catalyst with 15 top honors and fashion students highlighted their creations for 400 guests at the Future of Showcase. Award-winning pastry student Ainsley Roberts is headed to the French Alps for a summer internship.
