A minimum grade requirement of “C” or better for ALL the courses in the Brookhaven College Associate Nursing is required. Students must earn at least 25 percent of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Brookhaven College. You will need to apply for the associate’s degree at Brookhaven College. PREREQUISITES TO PROGRAM ADMISSION – BROOKHAVEN COLLEGE (Total Hours: 14)

Applicants must complete the prerequisite courses with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or higher and must meet the conditions of Application Eligibility toapply to the nursing program.

  • ENGL 1301 – Composition I This is a (010) Core course. Must earn a grade of “C” or higher.
  • CHOOSE ONE:
    • BIOL 2401 – Anatomy and Physiology I To register for BIOL 2401 you must complete the prerequisite of a grade of “C” or better in BIOL 1406. This is a (030) Core course. OR
    • SCIT 1407 – Applied Human Anatomy and Physiology I
  • CHOOSE ONE:
    • CHEM 1405 – Introductory Chemistry I CHEM 1405 fulfills the prerequisite requirement to program admission for Brookhaven College, however, CHEM 1405 would transfer as a General Elective course for Columbia College Semester 1. OR
    • CHEM 1411 – General Chemistry I CHEM 1411 is required by Columbia College and would fulfill the CHEM 110 requirement for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree replacing a General Elective course for Columbia College Semester 1. The remaining General Elective would be 1 credit hour.
  • PSYC 2314 – Lifespan and Growth and Development This is a (080) Core course.

Students must enroll in the Columbia College Associate to Bachelor’s (A2B) program before the end of the 2019-20 academic year to lock in the 2019-20 academic catalog. All DCCCD credit transfers to Columbia College as Lower Level Credit. The Columbia College Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. It is best to apply to Columbia College a full semester before you plan to transfer. It will help if you submit a copy of this pathway with your application. Students must be a current RN to be admitted to the BSN program.
