(DALLAS) — The Dallas County Community College District will host a free resource fair for women veterans on Thursday, March 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the
Bill J.Priest campus of El Centro College, located at 1402 Corinth St. near downtown Dallas. The one-day program is presented by DCCCD, the Women’s Bureau of the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and several community organizations.
“We salute our women veterans for their service and want to help them advance their careers by providing information and resources during this program,” said Gregory Williams, DCCCD director of transfer services, who has worked with other agencies to coordinate the event. “Our partners at federal agencies and community organizations want to help women veterans meet their needs and find jobs.”
The schedule includes morning general sessions and breakout sessions that will help women veterans learn more about health care, employment benefits and other resources and service providers. An afternoon job fair also will help women veterans who are seeking employment to meet potential employers. During the job fair, several organizations plan to conduct on-site interviews.
