(DALLAS) – Patty Arellano Tolotta joined the Dallas County Community College District as its new chief marketing officer on Dec. 3. Arellano Tolotta formerly served as Texas Instruments’ global director of university digital marketing and STEM outreach programs. She succeeds former DCCCD CMO Kathy Cook, who retired in August.
"We are very excited that Patty Arellano Tolotta has joined the Dallas County Community District as our chief marketing officer," said Dr. Justin Lonon, DCCCD's executive vice chancellor. "She has worked for Texas Instruments a number of years with corporate and university partners, and she has broad experience in marketing. Patty's expertise will enhance the work of our marketing and communications team, which serves students and our community on a daily basis."
The DCCCD marketing and communications team is a division of the district's office of public and governmental affairs.
Arellano Tolotta, who will supervise more than 30 staff members in DCCCD’s marketing and communications office, said, "I am a product of Dallas County Community Colleges, and I have a deep personal connection with the impact this excellent educational system can have on a life path.”
She added, “In this new role with DCCCD, I hope to build on the great work already being done so that more area residents can benefit from its programs, just as I did."
Arellano Tolotta, who attended several DCCCD colleges before she transferred to the University of North Texas, has more than 20 years of experience in marketing and public relations. She has directed and implemented comprehensive and innovative digital marketing and communications strategies and plans throughout her career.
Her areas of expertise include digital marketing, internal communications, change management, public relations and social media strategy, advertising, database marketing, branding and other related fields.
During her 16-year tenure at TI, she also served as global director of digital marketing, embedded processing business; global communications manager, microcontrollers and wireless; corporate communications manager; and several additional positions.
Arellano Tolotta also worked for the Williams Companies in Tulsa, Okla., as public relations manager and media relations representative before she joined TI.
She is a 2017 graduate of Leadership Dallas; served as a member of the board of directors for the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; and is a mentor and coach to several early-career and seasoned professionals.
Arellano Tolotta earned her master’s degree in business administration from Oklahoma State University and her bachelor’s degree in journalism and marketing from UNT.
