Congratulations to Eastfield students Calvin Neason, Saralyn Corey, Eriene Resendiz and Aaron Vazquez, who sang with the Two-Year College All-State Choir in February.
The students sang advanced repertoire under the leadership of a renowned conductor with the top auditioned students from other two-year colleges throughout the state. Eriene was selected as leader for her section.
The event is hosted by the Texas Two-Year College Choral Directors Association.
Singing in this choir gives our top students a glimpse of what they can achieve as they continue their musical studies and careers, said voice professor Melinda Imthurn, who served as the association's president this year. It also motivates them to bring that excellence to our campuses, she said.
Eastfield was the only DCCCD campus in attendance.
"It truly is a life-changing experience for our music students, as they tell me year after year," Imthurn said.
