(DALLAS) — Three finalists for the position of president of Eastfield College have been announced by the Dallas County Community College District:
Dr. Robert Bisking, dean of the School of Business and Leadership and assistant professor at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio;
Dr. Pedro Martinez, professor, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at Winston-Salem State University (N.C.); and
Dr. Jean Conway, interim president, Eastfield College.
Each candidate will visit the college and spend time with the search committee, campus vice presidents, members of the professional support staff, students and members of the EFC leadership team. They also will speak during a campus open forum, providing a 10-minute presentation for students, faculty and staff and participating in a question-and-answer session.
The schedule for campus visits is April 7 for Conway, April 13 for Bisking, and April 14 for Martinez. The candidates also will tour the campus during their visits.
Bisking, previously interim dean for the School of Business and assistant professor at Our Lady of the Lake University, also served as president and CEO of Celestial Enterprises in San Antonio and was director of operations for Prospective Computer Analysts in Garden City, N.Y. He earned his doctorate in leadership studies at Our Lady of the Lake University; his master’s degree in systems engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif.; and his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
Martinez also served as assistant vice president for academic affairs at William Paterson University in Wayne, N.J., and as director of affirmative action and cultural diversity at Chicago State University (Ill.). He earned his doctorate in social foundations from Loyola University in Chicago; his master’s degree in secondary education/reading specialist from the University of Hartford (Conn.); and his bachelor’s degree from St. Alphonsus College in Suffield, Conn.
Before she was appointed to serve as interim president at EFC, Conway was vice president for teaching and learning and executive dean of world languages, cultures and communications at Richland College; and was an instructor at Brookhaven College. Conway holds a doctorate in education/supervision, curriculum and instruction from Texas A&M University-Commerce; and a master’s degree in English and a bachelor’s degree in English/Spanish and psychology, both from the University of North Texas in Denton.
