(DALLAS) — The road to riches starts with your heart, according to successful author and entrepreneur Russell Simmons. He should know — he’s lived the dream.
Simmons, author of the New York Times bestseller “Do You!,” will discuss and sign copies of his latest book, “Super Rich: A Guide to Having It All,” on Friday, April 15, at the
Barnes & Noble bookstore in Lincoln Park, 7700 W. Northwest Highway, Suite 300, in Dallas at 7 p.m.
The event is free and open to the general public. A portion of the proceeds from “Super Rich” sold April 14-16 will benefit the Dallas County Community College District Foundation’s George Dawson Scholarship Fund. Book buyers can either print out a
voucher (PDF - 81KB) in advance and give it to the cashier when they purchase the book, or they can mention Bookfair ID code 10443919 to the cashier to help benefit the fund.
People who plan to attend the book signing must have a Barnes & Noble receipt in order to pick up the wristband, which they must have in order to participate in the signing. Those wristbands will be available at the store on April 14, beginning at 9 a.m. For details, call the store at (214) 739-1124.
“Happy can make you money, but money can’t make you happy,” says Simmons, who knows that wealth is rooted in much more than the stock market. He believes that true wealth has more to do with what’s in an individual’s heart than in that person’s wallet. Using this knowledge, Simmons has become one of the country’s shrewdest entrepreneurs. In “Super Rich,” he uses a combination of spiritual savvy and street-smart wisdom to offer a new definition of wealth, and he shares timeless principles for developing a strong sense of self that can survive any financial storm.
His latest book includes stories about his own road to riches; he explores the principles and practices that have driven him forward and keep him focused — listening to his own inner voice.
DCCCD is a community partner with Barnes & Noble Booksellers, which is sponsoring the book signing and offering an opportunity for readers to enjoy Simmons’ book and donate to the George Dawson Scholarship Fund.
