(DALLAS) — The strains of “Pomp and Circumstance” stir memories of graduation that include the swish of silk robes and the toss of tasseled mortarboards. This spring, hundreds of students are graduating from the Dallas County Community College District’s seven colleges, with family members and friends on hand to celebrate their accomplishments.
Among the 300 candidates at Eastfield College who will receive associate degrees are 47 students from Lakeview Centennial High School who comprise the first LCHS group to graduate from Eastfield’s dual credit program. LCHS is part of the Garland Independent School District. The May 10 ceremony will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Mesquite Convention Center and Exhibit Hall.
In Dallas, 45 students from the Trinidad “Trini” Garza Early College High School at Mountain View College also will receive their associate degrees as they march across the stage on May 9.
