(DALLAS) — Some folks live high on the hog. Some folks
eat high on the hog. Both are welcome to feast on “all things pork” during a special foodie event, “Hop ‘n Hog,” at El Centro College on Thursday, July 25.
Pounds of pork will be paired with “hopped”-up, bubbling beer — that’s why it’s called “Hop ‘n Hog” — presented by area chefs and local brewers, including Four Corners Brewery.
The 6:30 p.m. event will feature a five-course “all things pork” reception and dinner. All tickets must be purchased
in advance because seating is limited; the cost is $65 per ticket, and proceeds will go to the El Centro Exes Alumni Fund. The money will be used to assist the college’s Food and Hospitality Institute with an expansion of its kitchen and for purchasing equipment and supplies. The Exes are chefs from across the Dallas area who are graduates of the El Centro College Food and Hospitality Institute.
“From the shoulder to the ham, the pig is the star of the menu,” said Gus Katsigris, professor emeritus of the culinary arts program at El Centro. “The bountiful beast will be combined with soup, salad, pasta, seafood and even dessert. Each course will be enthusiastically paired with fine, local beers.”
Katsigris added, “Come pig out with some Stout and other fine bubbly beverages at Dallas’ top culinary school!”
The event will be held at the El Centro College campus in downtown Dallas at 801 Main St.
