Financial literacy is the foundation of a healthy relationship with money. It empowers people to make informed choices about their money and gives them the tools they need to build a solid financial future. It’s never too early or late to learn about personal finance. Workshop topics include saving, budgeting and building good credit and there are opportunities to ask questions.

Conover is a research-based process for assessing and teaching personal skills for success in school, workplace, community and life. Topics include work ethics, résumé writing, interviewing, problem solving and teamwork. Conover is cloud-based and accessible from anywhere and any device.

Earn while you learn and launch your career with an internship or apprenticeship. The enrollment process is streamlined and supportive, offering interview preparation and providing campus resources, such as career and transfer services. One-on-one coaching helps students find the best opportunity for their goals and facilitates a smooth application experience. To qualify, you must:

  • Be enrolled full-time (12 credit hours) at North Lake Campus
  • Have a 3.0 GPA with 30 credit hours completed
  • Desire an internship in a high demand career field

The instructional designer develops and integrates work-based learning programs, such as Ascender, through asset based relevant curricula. This includes on- and off-site faculty development and rigorous curriculum with empathy that builds on student culture, experiences, backgrounds and needs. It creates a culture of continuous learning for adults that is tied to student learning and other school goals.

Provides support, connections and valuable resources as first time in higher education faculty and staff navigate their journey at Dallas College. The initiative catchment is 12-24 months from hire date for anyone new to higher education but everyone, no matter when they were hired, is welcomed.
