Innovative Strategies - One Workforce

​​​​​​​​​​The U.S. Department of Labor awarded $1​0 million in federal grant funds to Dallas College to prepare individuals for success in middle-to high-skilled occupations in the growing sectors of:

  • Information Technology/Cybersecurity
  • Advanced Manufacturing/Robotics
  • Transportation

Over four years (2021-2025), the project will train 4,000 individuals in skills to advance in well-paying career pathways.

This project will:

  • Assist employers to better leverage untapped talent and hire for potential.
  • Develop work-based learning and clear career pathways for unemployed, underemployed and incumbent workers to reach mid-to-high skill jobs.
  • Develop innovative instructional strategies designed to keep pace with sector growth. This includes online, distance and other technology-enhanced learning.
  • Help participants overcome barriers to success through mentoring, career counseling and industry-led, competency-based training.
  • With industry collaboration, create strategies to sustain and scale these efforts into the future, and beyond Texas.
