Dr. Christa Evangelisto is a lifelong animal lover turned educator with a deep-rooted passion for improving teaching and learning. Her journey into education was driven by a desire to make a lasting impact — not just on students, but on the systems and practices that shape their success.
Dr. Evangelisto currently serves as a biology department chair at Dallas College, where she leads faculty development efforts, evaluates instructional practices and champions active learning and course design innovation. Her work is grounded in collaboration, mentorship and a commitment to continuous improvement.
If there’s one word that defines Dr. Evangelisto, it’s resilient. Through life lessons and the support of mentors and supervisors at Dallas College and beyond, she has learned to take bold risks, share her expertise and embrace each moment with purpose. Her resilience fuels her drive to elevate others and foster a culture of excellence.
When she’s not inspiring students or coaching fellow educators, Dr. Evangelisto is likely on a journey — whether by horse, motorcycle, book or culinary adventure. She’s excited to connect with fellow professionals, share her love of education and sprinkle in a few biology facts along the way.
