Jennifer Hudson

Faculty

Dr. Jennifer Hudson is a transatlantic historian with more than two decades of classroom experience. While her love for history runs deep, her greatest passion lies in teaching — meeting students where they are and helping them discover the power of critical thinking.

Dr. Hudson currently teaches U.S. history courses at Dallas College, providing students with a foundational understanding of American history. She is equally confident speaking on broader historical topics, particularly Anglo-American history, and brings a global perspective to every discussion.

Inspired by every librarian she’s ever met, Hudson developed a lifelong love of reading that continues to shape her teaching. She works to spark that same curiosity in her students and feels most proud when they share that future history courses were easier because of the critical thinking skills they gained in her class.

When Dr. Hudson isn’t expanding the minds of students in the classroom, you can find her volunteering, traveling, cycling or diving — and always trying to laugh along the way. She looks forward to inspiring others to see history not just as a subject, but as a lens for shaping the future.
