Robert DeHaas

Vice Provost of the School of Education

​Dr. Robert DeHaas is a passionate educator who dedicates his career to making a difference in the lives of students and teachers. As a leader inside and outside of classrooms, Dr. DeHaas’ passion lies in nurturing the next generation of teachers and educational leaders so they can continue to provide endless opportunities for students.

Dr. DeHaas currently serves as the vice provost for Dallas College’s School of Education. He is focused on creating innovative programs, challenging status quos and ensuring every student is given a chance to succeed, regardless of their zip code. He uses his wide range of experience in leadership, nonprofit and teaching roles to help rewrite the future of education.

Destined to follow in his family’s footsteps, Dr. DeHaas credits his love for education to his mother and grandmother, both of whom were dedicated teachers. While they guided the next generation of students, Dr. DeHaas quietly absorbed their love for learning, sparking his own journey into the world of education.

When Dr. DeHaas isn’t busy leading the field, you can find him volunteering his time with various local, state and national organizations, watching sports, running or spending time with his family. He is excited to share his visions with the community and work together to expand education access for all.
