Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Assessment

Once you apply for admission, the next step is determining if you meet TSI requirements.

Texas Success Initiative (TSIA2)

TSIA2 is a state-legislated program designed to improve student success in college. Part of the program is an assessment to determine your basic skills in reading, mathematics and writing.

TSI Exemptions

You can find out more about TSI exemptions and waivers in the Dallas College catalog. You must take the TSI (or be exempted from taking it) before you can register for courses that have a TSI prerequisite requirement. Please contact a Success Coaching (Advising) Center for more information.

Pre-Assessment Activity (PAA)

You will be required to complete a pre-assessment activity before completing the TSIA2 assessment.

Taking Your Assessment

You may choose to take the TSI assessment in person at a campus testing center.

Once you have completed your TSI assessment, your success coach (advisor) will use your TSI assessment scores to recommend course choices during registration.

All students must complete the Pre-Assessment Activity in eConnect before taking the TSIA2. Review the steps and requirement for taking the pre-assessment.

If You Have Previously Tested

Students who have tested elsewhere through an approved state institution and need their scores retrieved from the College Board Accuplacer database must submit an Individual Score Report request form and a picture ID to the office listed below:
