Financial Aid

All Financial Aid offices will be closed Friday, Sept. 22 for staff training.
For information about the student debt relief plan announced by President Biden, please visit studentaid.gov/debtrelief. The Dallas College Financial Aid team cannot determine your eligibility for the program.

Don’t leave money on the table.

Almost every student is eligible for some type of financial aid. That might mean federal grants or loans. But even if you aren’t eligible for federal aid, you may qualify for a work-study job, scholarships, emergency funds, food assistance and more.

But you must apply!

Applying Opens Doors

The financial aid process can help you even if:

  • You think your family’s income is too high to qualify
  • You are undocumented or a DACA recipient
  • You don’t want to take out loans
  • You want to “save” your Pell grants for university
  • You have average grades

Applying for financial aid opens the door to all types of assistance. Contact our Financial Aid team and start the process today.

Types of Aid

Government funds for education that you don't pay back

Funds awarded based on need or merit from an organization or institution that are not paid back

Need-based aid earned with a part-time job

Low-interest loans borrowed for education expenses. This money must be paid back with interest when you leave school.

Dallas College can connect you with community groups and nonprofits that can help with rent, child care, groceries, health care and more. But many determine eligibility with your financial aid application.

The Dallas College Foundation has money to get you through a financial emergency. But you need a financial aid application to qualify for some funding.
