(DALLAS) — Drones are everywhere … in the skies as fireworks for the Fourth of July, overhead checking power lines during Texas ice storms, in the air checking crime scenes and over neighborhoods and parks for recreational purposes.
Regardless of their use or application, drones are here to stay in the workplace and at home — and the need for qualified drone pilots will only increase in the future. That’s why the Dallas County Community College District and RMS Aerospace in Addison recently partnered to offer the first U.S. Department of Labor registered apprenticeship in unmanned aerial systems (or UAS) in July.
DCCCD and RMS Aerospace will offer a free information session for anyone who would like to learn more about the program on Wednesday, Sept. 12, from 6 to 9 p.m. at DCCCD’s Bill J. Priest Institute, located at 1402 Corinth Street Road in Dallas. Anyone who is 18 years of age or older is welcome to attend.
