(DALLAS) — Known throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area for its contributions to workforce development, the Dallas County Community College District has hired Olympia Consulting LLC to develop and launch a DCCCD corporate training department that will focus on the employee training needs of business clients from the DFW Metroplex.
The new DCCCD unit, which will be part of the district’s division of workforce and economic development, will provide comprehensive, coordinated services for businesses in North Texas.
“Since 1965, the Dallas County Community College District has served as a leader in workforce development. We have partnered with all types of businesses — ranging in size and scope — to train and retrain employees, providing them with skills that meet industry needs,” said Dr. Joe May, DCCCD’s chancellor. “We want to build on that foundation and expand those efforts to help improve employee productivity and retention for those businesses.”
May added, “We are making that goal a reality by creating a new unit which will address employers’ needs, move economic development forward for our area and sustain local growth.”
Using independent market research, Olympia Consulting will ask members of the Dallas-area business community and other organizations to provide feedback about their needs and training preferences.
That input will help DCCCD and Olympia assess several key areas for businesses that want corporate training, including: capabilities for services; opportunities for development; appropriate resources (technology, infrastructure and human resources, specifically); and processes that will be needed for business development, delivery and ongoing improvements.
Results from that research then will be used to match and build the corporate training services most needed in North Texas which will be offered by the district.
