News brief

(DALLAS) — Providing opportunities for people to vote is important, and the Dallas County Community College District is serving the community by hosting several early voting locations throughout Dallas County. Those locations include several “pop-ups” that are scheduled this week. Details are provided below.

Several DCCCD locations are hosting four early voting locations, Oct. 22 through Nov. 2, 2018, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. here:

  • Eastfield College Pleasant Grove Campus, 802 S. Buckner Blvd., Dallas
  • El Centro College West Campus, 3330 N. Hampton Road, Dallas
  • Richland College Garland Campus, 675 W. Walnut St., Garland
  • Richland College (main campus), 12800 Abrams Road, Dallas, Guadalupe Hall.

“Pop-up,” or temporary, early voting locations also are scheduled at these DCCCD locations (times and dates are noted below):

Monday, Oct. 29, through Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. here:

  • Brookhaven College, Building H (Miles Hall), 3939 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch
  • Eastfield College (main campus), C Building, 3737 Motley Drive, Mesquite
  • North Lake College, Community Library (Building L), 5001 N. MacArthur Blvd., Irving

Tuesday, Oct. 30, through Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. here:

  • Cedar Valley College, G Building (room G101), 3030 N. Dallas Ave., Lancaster
  • El Centro College, Student Center, 801 Main St., Dallas
  • Mountain View College, E Building, 4849 W. Illinois Ave., Dallas

Several related on-campus events are scheduled at four colleges during early voting as well:

  • DCCCD Votes: Unleash Democracy — Oct. 30 at Mountain View College, noon to 2 p.m., in the courtyard between S and W buildings (with some four-footed friends!)
  • DCCCD Votes: Dance for Democracy — Nov. 1, Cedar Valley College, noon to 2 p.m., outside A Building (dance to the voting booth!)
  • DCCCD Votes: Doors to Democracy — Nov. 1, El Centro College, noon to 2 p.m. (opening the doors to downtown Dallas voters!)
  • Brookhaven College hosted DCCCD Votes: Prep for the Polls “pop-up” event last week on Oct. 25.
