Dr. Wright L. Lassiter, Jr. Early College High School at El Centro College Named to 2018 Children at Risk List

(May 23, 2018) Dallas, TX – Dr. Wright L. Lassiter, Jr. Early College High School at El Centro College is proud to announce it has made Children at Risk’s list of Top High Schools in North Texas and Top Gold Ribbon Schools in North Texas.

Michael St. Ama, Principal of Lassiter ECHS, credits the staff and students for their hard work each and every day. “It would not be possible to attain the high academic standards to receive the grade of A and to be named a Top High School in North Texas,” he said. “Our students just seem to make it look easy!”

Every year, Children at Risk analyzes school performance to issue a ranking of hundreds of schools across Texas. The analysis ranks schools and gives them grades A through F based on several measures, including performance on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, student growth or improvement on standardized tests over time and college readiness.

The analysis also looked at how schools perform when they serve low-income or working-class communities with a high percentage of economically disadvantaged students.

Children at Risk's Top Gold Ribbon campuses are schools that made an A or B while serving a student body that is 75% or higher economically disadvantaged. For the complete school list visit https://texasschoolguide.org/
