The Danielle Georgiou Dance Group performs at the 2017 Faculty Dance Concert.

Eastfield's dance faculty will perform March 9 in a show dubbed a  "a can't miss dance event" by The Dallas Morning News.

The fourth annual Faculty Dance Concert will feature premieres from dance instructors Kiera Amison, Claire Augustine, Yeajean Choi, and Jamie Perrin, who will also debut her new company, Common Thread Dance Company.

Dance program coordinator Danielle Georgiou is also premiering a piece, a collaboration with musician Donovan Jones titled "La Trapera (The Gatherer)." It's based off the folktale "La Loba," which tells the story of a wolf woman, a collector of bones, a gatherer of souls, who resurrects the wild sprit of life from the depths of the Underworld.

Guest Artist Jasmine Morris of CholoRock will present a restaging of "Silbando." Choi and Texas Woman's University dance professor Jordan Fuchs will screen their short dance film, "Landscape Without Horizon."

Performers include company members from the Danielle Georgiou Dance Group and Muscle Memory Dance Theatre, as well as independent artists from Dallas, Denton, and Arlington.

The performance is 8 p.m. Friday, March 9 in the Performance Hall. Admission is free.
