Bob Felder has been with DCCCD for 50 years.

Eastfield celebrated the start of the spring semester by honoring employees for their service.

Longevity awards were presented at convocation to 70 employees celebrating five, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 45 and 50 years with the district. Combined, their service amounts to 1,035 years.

Economics professor Bob Felder taught at El Centro College for three years before moving to Eastfield in 1970, the year the college opened. A bench will be installed on campus in honor of his service.

“I never wanted to be anything but a teacher,” Felder told the Et Cetera student newspaper in 2015 as the college celebrated 45 years. “That’s what Eastfield was able to do for me, and that’s why I’ve enjoyed it.”

Employees were honored at convocation for service anniversaries of five, 10, 15,
20, 25, 30, 45 and 50 years.
