The North Texas Food Bank's Mobile Food Pantry will distributed fresh produce 1:30-3:30 p.m. April 25 in the S building parking lot.

According to a fall 2016 survey, 64 percent of DCCCD students reported "marginal or worse food security" during the previous 30-day period and 27 percent reported "very low food security."

"DCCCD and the North Texas Food Bank are partnering to make food available at all of our colleges," said Dr. Pyeper Wilkins, chief advancement officer and executive director of the DCCCD Foundation. " Some of our colleges already have food pantries, and we are planning to expand them. Several colleges that don't have food pantries will either find space for one or will bring the NTFB's mobile food pantry on site."

Students and community members can obtain free fresh fruits and vegetables from the mobile pantry. Food bank staff will also provide information on applying for food stamps.
