World Space Week 2018 is set to be out of this world.

Since it's creation by the United Nations in 1999, World Space Week annually celebrates over 3,700 events across the globe. At MVC, we're proud to say we're contributing to that number. Over the course of October 4-10, numerous guest speaker events are set to take place on campus. One of the featured events featured guest author and current Texas Christian Unversity and MVC professor, Dr. Richard E. Bonde.

On Thursday, October 4, we welcomed Dr. Bonde will discuss the current research in space physics and space weather. Recent developments in studies regarding the Sun's atmosphere will be a major talking point. Professor Bonde received bachelor's degrees in physics, mathematics and aerospace engineering from Wichita State Unversity. He currently owns a master's degree and Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Arlington. We're proud to call Dr. Bonde on of our own and thankful he took time from his busy schedule at TCU to visit with our students and community members.

Couldn't make it and you missed out on seeing one of the guest speaker events? Stop by the Kiva Gallery and enjoy astronomy inspired artwork produced by our wonderful art students. The gallery is open to all and free to view.
