DALLAS—Brookhaven College hosts "Media, Civility and Community Policing," a panel discussion on justice, diversity and media perceptions Feb. 26 from 10:30-11:50 a.m. in Bldg. B, Room B240.
Panelists include Chief Lauretta Hill and Commander Mark Lopez of the DCCCD Police Department; Michael Freeman, Brookhaven College professor; David Griggs, attorney and Brookhaven College instructor; and Dr. Martel Pipkins, Mary Miles Bibb Fellow of Framingham State University and associate professor.
Following the panel, Pipkins will explore the topics further with students in his presentation, "Understanding and Addressing Implicit Bias," a workshop discussing bias, justice and community policing to examine the ideas of empathy and inclusion on a college campus from noon-1:20 p.m. in Bldg. B, Room B240.
