SkillsUSA participant
On June 21-28, 2019, six students from El Centro College Food and Hospitality Institute competed in the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference in Louisville, KY. SkillsUSA is national career and technology student organization (CTSO) made up of a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce and that our students are job ready – day one.

3 State Officers participated in Leverage – Intensive leadership development courses over 3 days where the students grew as people and future industry leaders.

FHI student Jay Clifton was elected as a Post-Secondary National Officer – Jay just completed a 2-week leadership & facilitation training event in Leesburg, VA, where he was named Vice-President for the National Post-Secondary Officer Team. The team will lead Washington Leadership and Training Institute in September.
