Focus and Finish

Our eight-week HarvesTerms help you focus on fewer classes at a time so you can finish your degree or certificate faster. You can be a full-time student while taking only two courses.

Talk to your advisor before you schedule more than six hours per eight-week term. A HarvesTerm condenses the time – but not the workload – of traditional 16-week courses.

What you need to know:

  • You can enroll in a maximum of 10 credits per eight-week HarvesTerm.

  • The first HarvesTerm starts on the first day of the semester and runs eight weeks. There is a short break of a few days before the second HarvesTerm begins. It runs through the end of the semester.

    Fall 2019

    Fall 16-week semester: Aug. 26-Dec. 12
    HarvesTerm I: Aug. 26-Oct. 16
    HarvesTerm II: Oct. 22-Dec. 12
See the academic calendar for spring sessions and other important dates

  • Finals are held on the last day of class at the instructor's discretion.

  • What does this mean for my financial aid package?
Your financial aid award will be based on the number of credits you are enrolled in during fall and spring semesters. As an example, if you are enrolled in two three-credit classes during the first eight-week term of the semester and two three-credit classes the second eight-week term, your financial aid award will be based on 12 credits, full-time status. You will receive a full-time book advance and half of your financial aid will post after certification for the first eight-week term. The second half of your financial aid will post after certification for the second eight-week term.
