Fifteen students graduated from BankWork$ on Sept. 25, an eight-week course held at Mountain View College that culminated in a ceremony and a job fair with employers from local financial institutions.

Graduates were immediately invited to sit and talk with branch employees from institutes such as Chase, Wells Fargo, Comerica, Frost Bank, and more.

Program director Elishima Myles said a small percentage of BankWork$ students have jobs lined up before they graduate, and nearly 30 percent of students receive their first interview with a bank before they graduate, followed by a job offer one to two weeks later.

The course offers job training in the financial services industry, as well as coaching for career advancement.

The next class begins Oct. 21, with orientation scheduled for Oct. 7 and 9.
