The local news spotlight was shining brightly on Mountain View College during the month of May. 

NBC 5-KXAS and 94.9 KLTY-FM mentioned 74-year-old great-grandmother and now MVC graduate Anna Pedford on their airwaves. Momma, as most people call Pedford, said pursuing her degree was an easy decision. “I'm doing this because I'm using my degree as target practice. I want to set an example for seniors that just because you're in your 60s or 70s, you don't have to just sit back and watch soap operas or not do anything,” Pedford said. View her story below.

A proud member of MVC’s Student Government Association, Jessica Armstead garnered attention by appearing on WFAA-TVs special series, “I am UNSTOPPABLE Too” with popular TV personality and traffic reporter Demetria Obilor. Two of MVC’s honors students were recognized by Al Dia Dallas for their high achievements as Mexican-American students. Lilliana Gonzalez and Eduardo Hernandez both represent Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and both have dealt with adversities that heavily affected their families.
