The Texas Education Agency announced the nomination of 26 Texas public schools as 2020 National Blue Ribbon School designees on Feb. 10.
The Early College High School (CFBISD) located on the Brookhaven campus was nominated as Exemplary High-Performing Schools for 2020. This is the second nomination for the ECHS, which was first recognized in 2014.
National award winners will be announced in September and the winners will be recognized at the Blue Ribbon Schools Awards Ceremony in Washington, D.C.
The National Blue Ribbon Schools program recognizes public and private elementary, middle and high schools that have high student achievement and/or highlights where exemplary progress has been made in closing achievement gaps among student subpopulations. Each nominated school has an economically disadvantaged population of 25% or more, according to the TEA press release.
