The H. Paxton Moore Fine Art Gallery Presents: the 29th Annual
Young American Talent High School Art Competition


(March 4, 2020) Dallas, TX – The H. Paxton Moore Fine Art Gallery at El Centro College proudly presents the 29th Annual Young American Talent High School Art Competition. This exhibition is free and open to the public.

Exhibition Dates: February 24 – March 25
Awards Ceremony: March 25, 6 – 8 p.m.

Young American Talent is a long-standing annual High School Art Competition hosted by Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts Guild and is open to any current DFW area high schooler. For the 2020 exhibition over 1,000 young artists applied for the show held for the 15th year at El Centro College. One hundred thirty artworks were chosen by our esteemed Jurors consisting of; Hilde Nelson (Dallas Museum of Art Contemporary Art Curatorial Assistant), Kimberly Cypert-Russell (El Centro College Professor of Art and Visual Artist), and Spencer Evans (Visual Artist). An awards ceremony will be held March 25, from 6 – 8 p.m. to announce the Best of Show, Invitational Winner, and winners in each category.

Public Gallery hours are Monday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Thursday from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.; and Friday from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. The gallery is open on the weekends by appointment only.
