Former students discuss their career experiences at Communications Career Day in April 2019.

The annual Communications Career Day is going virtual. Join us on Thursday, April 30, at 2:30 p.m. for a Zoom panel discussion with several former Eastfield College students who are now working or interning for professional news media organizations.

Guests include James Bright, general manager of the Texarkana Gazette; James Hartley, a reporter for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram; Parker Ward, copy editor and page designer for the Longview News-Journal; Braulio Tellez, part-time paginator and copy editor at the Dallas Morning News; and Aria Jones, news desk editor at The Daily Texan at UT Austin, past intern at the El Paso Times and future intern at the Dallas Morning News.

Panelists will discuss their career paths, how they are covering COVID-19 and advice for current journalism and communications students. The discussion is open to the public, and we will take questions at the end of the program. This event is part of the college’s Literary & Fine Arts Festival.
