At a February 19 dedication ceremony, Mountain View College introduced the new Lion's Legacy Clothing Closet, which will provide donated clothes for students who need them.

The closet stocks professional attire which students can use to attend job interviews, hiring fairs, and other professional events. There's also a rack of children's clothing for MVC students who are supporting families. Students shop in the closet at no cost.

At the dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony, MVC President Dr. Beatriz Joseph remarked, "We will have to continue to do this kind of work to support our students to ensure that they are successful, that they remain in school, and they continue to thrive." Afterwards, Cathy Edwards, Director of Community Outreach, praised "this effort to break the barriers for student success, one student at a time."

The Lion's Legacy Clothing Closet is located in room S1014, adjacent to MVC's food pantry and Student Life office. The closet features a mural painted by MVC alumnus Orlando Hernandez, an artist who is also responsible for the hand-painted lion in the college's fitness center.
