(DALLAS) — After an extensive search, the Dallas County Community College District has announced that Sherri Enright has joined the district as its new chief human resources officer.

Enright, who began the position Monday, Feb. 10, will be responsible for transforming the district’s human resources operation into a strategic, talent-focused and service-oriented function that promotes a culture of inclusivity and appreciation for the diversity represented in the county, the student body and our employees.

Working with the district’s leadership team, Enright is charged with building a comprehensive strategy to align recruitment and development activities and developing and maintaining a system of total compensation that attracts quality applicants, rewards outstanding work and results, and encourages longevity. Additionally, she will lead the development and updating of policies that support student success through employees, promote consistency and fairness, and encourage measurable accountability and productivity throughout the organization.

As she recently said in accepting the position, “North Texas is a vibrant and diverse area that continues to attract top employers, and DCCCD is charged with ensuring that we’re preparing our communities for opportunities that are available. Specifically, I look forward to working with the district leadership team to ensure we are continuing to attract, develop and retain our employees and provide them with the resources necessary to succeed. When our employees succeed, our students are the ultimate beneficiaries.”

A certified senior professional in human resources (SHRM-SCP) with an MBA and a law degree, Enright has served in a number of leadership positions throughout her career. She most recently served as the administrative attorney for the city of Fort Myers, Fla. In this role, she served as a legal advisor to the city and its departments on a broad range of legal issues and supported city departments, including HR, community development, information technology, finance and public works.

Prior to assuming her role with the city of Fort Myers. Enright served as executive vice president and chief human resources officer at Domino’s Pizza in Ann Arbor, Mich., where she led its global human resources team. She also has held senior HR positions in the insurance industry, working as head of human resources and facilities for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas in Topeka in 2013, and senior vice president and chief human resources officer for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City (Kan.) from August 2000 to August 2012.

“Sherri brings a successful track record of process improvement and experience to her new role, and we are proud to welcome her to the district,” said Dr. Joe May, DCCCD’s chancellor. “Creating a diverse, inclusive, high-performing work and learning environment that promotes employee and student success is a top strategic priority for the district. As an employer with strong connections to our community, we are committed to attracting, developing and retaining high-quality talent that reflects the communities we serve.”
