(DALLAS) – The Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services, the Dallas County Community College District, the Dallas Independent School District and Dallas Metrocare Services will sponsor a "Transitional Services and Job Fair" for high school students with disabilities (ages 16 to 22) on Saturday, Feb. 9, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The free event will be held on the seventh floor of the INFOMART, located in downtown Dallas at 1950 Stemmons Freeway (Interstate 35E).

High school students who are serviced by Special Education/504 and who are transitioning to part-time, after-school or summer jobs are invited to attend; door prizes will be given away as well.

More than 20 companies will conduct on-site interviews, including DISD, the city of Dallas, the Dallas County Sheriff's Department, UPS, Federal Express, Highland Springs Senior Retirement Community and many other prospective employers who are ready to hire high school students.

The event also will feature a variety of service providers who offer transitional services to students ages 16 to 22 who are moving from school into a work environment.
