(DALLAS) — A town-and-gown partnership between the Dallas County Community College District and BKM Total Office of Texas for the past two years has enabled several students to receive the Dr. Wright Lassiter Jr. BKM Scholarship, named in honor of DCCCD’s current chancellor. Interested students now can apply for the 2008 scholarship, which is worth $2,500 for the academic year and covers tuition and books.

DCCCD applicants must be students majoring in one of the following areas: art, education, entrepreneurship studies, computer aided design, interior design, leadership studies, mid-management careers, science, mathematics or technology. Applicants must enroll in at least 12 credit hours, must have a 2.5 grade point average or better, and must have completed at least one semester at a DCCCD college. 

The deadline to apply for the Dr. Wright Lassiter Jr. BKM Scholarship is May 30, 2008. Students must complete the DCCCD Foundation scholarship application form. DCCCD, the largest undergraduate institution in Texas, serves more than 64,000 credit and 25,000 continuing education students each semester.
