(DALLAS) — Dallas County Community College District wants to share a note about textbooks with all students who are enrolled this year at Brookhaven, Cedar Valley, Eastfield, El Centro, Mountain View, North Lake and Richland colleges (and the Dallas TeleCollege, DCCCD’s online, “virtual” campus).

Although all DCCCD main campus locations offer textbooks through their college bookstores, students can use alternative sources that may or may not be less expensive, according to Steve Ledford, director of auxiliary services for the district.  He says, “A student from our institution is not under any obligation to purchase a textbook from a DCCCD-affiliated bookstore. The same textbook may also be available from an independent retailer, including an online retailer.”

Ledford offers a word of caution, however: “DCCCD cannot guarantee the quality of textbooks purchased from other sources and cannot provide information regarding their pricing and refund policies.”
