In our continued efforts to improve service, DCCCD Financial Aid is making significant changes to the way we do business.

Here’s what you can expect to see in the coming months:

New Financial Aid Call Center

We’ve created a central financial aid call center to answer your questions and point you in the right direction. The dedicated call center representatives can be reached at 972-587-2599 or by email at facc@dcccd.edu.

Call center hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. (Note: We are receiving a high volume of calls from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. Please call during nonpeak hours if possible for faster service.)

Campus Services

Financial aid representatives will still be available on campus to assist you with questions and concerns.

New Financial Aid Verification Process

The Dallas County Community College District is implementing a new online system that will speed up the verification process. In the past, it took eight to 12 weeks from the time a student applied for financial aid to get confirmation of the aid they would receive. Under this new process, it should take just three weeks! The new online system will be available after July 5, 2011, to students who are selected for verification by the U.S. Department of Education.

Here’s how the new process will work, beginning with the 2011-2012 school year financial aid applications:

  1. You'll fill out the Free Application for Student Aid as usual.
  2. Some students who apply for financial aid will be selected for verification. If you are selected for verification, you’ll get an email at the address you listed on your FAFSA explaining what you need to do to complete the process. View the steps for verifying your identity.
  3. Other students will also be contacted by DCCCD so that we can address other specific issues, such as citizenship. So, it’s important to note that it’s possible you may be contacted twice with requests for information before we can verify your financial aid.
