Great news for students seeking financial aid for summer classes! Congress finally passed a budget bill for the remaining months of this fiscal year; it included funding for Pell Grant awards this summer — without a reduction in the scheduled award amounts.
What does this mean to you? It means that your Financial Aid Office will be able to make summer Pell Grant awards to eligible students.
Here’s some additional good news! Even though Congress has eliminated the program that paid two Pell Grant awards in a single year (previously called the “Year-Round Pell”), students who enroll for Summer I 2011 can receive a Pell award from the Year-Round Pell program if they have spent all of their original Pell Grant award.
