Approximately one-third of financial aid applicants will be selected for verification by the U.S. Department of Education. If you’re one of those students, you’ll get two things in your email inbox:
- An email from FAFSA that includes your Student Aid Report. The report will indicate whether or not you are selected for verification.
- An email from DCCCD with the subject line “More financial aid information needed.”
If your FAFSA Student Aid Report indicates that you don’t need to verify, you don’t need to do anything else.
If your FAFSA indicates that you do need to verify or if you have received a “More financial aid information needed” email from DCCCD, you’ll need to follow
a few more steps.
Make sure you check the email account you listed on your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and look in your junk mail or spam folder. If you can’t find the FAFSA email, or if you have questions, please contact the
Financial Aid Call Center, and they will request that a new email be sent to you.
