W. Wesley Jameson becomes the newest member of DCCCD's board of trustees.

(DALLAS) — W. Wesley Jameson, a resident of Duncanville, was sworn in on Tuesday, Jan. 3, as the newest member of the Dallas County Community College District’s board of trustees. In December, board members unanimously selected Jameson to fill the District 5 seat left vacant last fall when longtime Trustee Kitty Boyle of Irving announced her retirement. District 5 extends from Irving to Duncanville.
Jameson took his oath of office, administered by Maria Miller, staff member in the district’s legal office, as his family watched. He expressed his excitement about joining the seven-member board and said, “My main motivation in seeking the trustee position was to try to have an impact on the lives of DCCCD students while serving the community.”
He added, “Being a trustee allows me to have an influence in the educational process using creative solutions as part of the team. I am excited about the board’s decision to allow me to serve, and I look forward to the responsibility.”
Jerry Prater, chair of the DCCCD board of trustees, congratulated the new member. “All of our board members are excited to welcome Wesley Jameson as a DCCCD trustee. We know that he will do an excellent job working on behalf of our students and employees — as he also represents the citizens of District 5 — for the Dallas County Community College District, which is the largest undergraduate institution in Texas.”
DCCCD’s new trustee is a Dallas-based area sales manager of new media for AT&T Advertising Solutions. He previously served as area sales manager for AT&T Advertising Solutions in Fort Worth; as an account representative for Southwestern Bell Yellow Pages in Dallas; as a partner in the Dallas-based executive search firm of Jameson and Keller, which specialized in finance, accounting and management fields; as an account executive for Byrd International in Houston; and as business and education director for Mini-Skools Ltd. in Houston.
Jameson holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and biology from Trinity University in San Antonio. He is married to Johnette Jameson, who represents District 5 on the Duncanville City Council.
